73 Proto types
« on: May 08, 2013, 06:01:18 PM »
I have heard that the black 73 Proto is accounted for even tho I dont know by whom?
My question is about the white one.....
I lost track of it about 2 years ago when it was for sale in California. Does any one know of its where abouts as the last owner will not return my emails any longer?
Thanks

Interesting, I did not know they were 'out and about', would be interesting to dig them out of where they are currently, or at least get some pic's some day.

The white was for sale and I have pictures and proof. The guy who bought it supposedly didnt know it was a Proto, bought it for a body swap on his H/O.....

I remember that car on Ebay!Resto started, and the owner walked away. The seller, who was the shop owner as I remember, parted it out. I was lusting after that. I don't remember them mentioning it was the prototype though. Of course, it had to be on the wrong side of the country.

Yea I remember the white one offered on Ebay too. The frame & parts were in a separate auction which is a shame if they parted it from the body because the VIN is stamped into it. Long time ago (before auction) a former club member used to own this car and said it was pretty rough. The Ebay auction awhile back it was in pieces needing restoration finished. which is the last I've heard about it also, So did it all get parted out?

The black V-code car is in good hands of a private individual and told it runs great and is complete though needs to be finished. Maybe in the future we'll beable to see that special car someday.

Jon,
The white Proto HO went all to one person. They will not return my emails. His story was he bought the car for the body to restore another HO until he was informed of the cars history.
I think I know who has the car but he is hiding because he BS'ed me from the car.

The black car you know of the owner?
Thanks
