Thank you Jeff.

I printed the one for my 72 file and I gave Kurt copies of the 1969.

Boy.  In that one ad the 69 was in some big company!  A Boss 429 for $3195.

Plus Your Choice:   Hemi Road Runner, 440 six pack Super Bee, or our friend the 69 Hurst/Olds for $2295!

I doubt if $2295 would buy the air cleaner off any of them today!

I was doing some research on my new project '68 for newspaper ads, since my car went through Friedley Olds in Cedar Falls, Iowa, likely as a used car.  There were a few '68 H/Os advertised throughout the years from them.  The owner of the dealership is still alive and well, I spoke to him on the phone a few weeks ago.  He recalls selling several H/O's over the years, but not many details.

All of the attached advertisements were from the Waterloo Courier newspaper.

The first ad was from March 28, 1973.  There was actually a used '68 H/O at Crossroads Ford in the same town advertised March 12, then it showed up in Friedley's daily ad on March 28.  A/C was not mentioned in either, so it may have been a dealer swap of the cars.

From July 11 thru July 18, 1973, a private party ad was posted in the newspaper for a '68 H/O, doesn't mention A/C.

From July 24 thru August 8, 1973, a '68 H/O was advertised on Friedley's lot, no A/C is mentioned.  My car has an Iowa inspection sticker in the window dated July 21, 1973.

A December 12, 1974 advertisement shows another '68 H/O in Friedley's inventory, this time with A/C...  the advertisement ran through early 1975.

The trail of the first 3 ads makes me think that at least one of those (if not all) are my car.  Someone may have bought it, didn't like it after 6 months then resold.  The Demmer records showed that original dealer for mine was intended to be JJ Wright in Hammond, IN...  but with no information or history to the car, its hard to know exactly what happened.  Trying to find a 1973 Waterloo Iowa phone book to do a reverse phone number search and see if I can find owner history...
